Alexander Wang presented his new Fall-Winter 2011/12 footwear collection at New-York fashion show a week ago. His new collection doesn’t include innovative models yet the ideas are original and deserve attention thanks to their unexpected implementation.
For instance, there you can see separate boot tops that were previously spotted in other brands’ collection. Alexander Wang updated the concept and combined the tops with thin sandal straps. The contrast is even more striking if taking into account puffer design of the quilted leather tops.
Such a hybrid model looks attractive yet it isn’t that functional. Your feet are almost naked while your legs are covered with warm leather tops, so you’ll never know the right weather for these shoes. However, the bright designer idea makes them attractive to fashion fans.
Alexander Wang also launches shoes and sandals featuring an unusual detail from the rear, namely a long tongue made of the same material used for the top. Their straps are peculiar as well – there’s a separate strap for a big finger to ensure more comfortable wear and a firmer grip.
You can also find sandals with fur as well as retro-futuristic loafers in Alexander Wang Fall-Winter 2011/12 collection. The loafers are equipped with little tassels come in bright futuristic colors.

Footwear created by Rick Owens is frequent to amaze the public since he puts into practice the brightest concepts thus changing the idea about how traditional women shoes should look like. His new footwear model is likely to be his best sandals for the time being. Their unusual design immediately draws attention of every woman.
Rick Owens’ new sandals feature airy tops made of organza. This hybrid construction combines two types of footwear – sandals and low-top summer booties. Yet, organza tops doesn’t perform any vital function and just embellish the shoes, so this model should be called sandals rather than booties.
These Rick Owens’ best sandals were first presented to public on Rick Owens fashion show last autumn where they were seen among his summer and spring 2011 shoes. There were two runway variants, black and emerald green.
When looking at these avant-garde sandals there comes a supposition that Rick Owens was inspired by ballet style that’s so popular this season. Pompous decorative tops, streaming in the wind as you walk, reminds us of ballerina outfits. It’s not the first time that Rick Owens borrows details from clothing. Earlier, he worked out unusual booties with suede “skirts” on them.

Speaking about different tendencies in the world of shoes it is necessary to mention fishnet shoes, those featuring a transparent surface made from mesh. So let’s look at latest shoes do for this micro tendency.
Mesh shoes form a micro-tendency in spring/summer 2011 fashion, continuing the last year’s tendency. The fishnet may be weaved from thin leather straps, threads or strings made from taffeta. The latest shoes from Victor&Rolf and Emporio Armani are made from this very kind of mesh.
Lanvin latest shoes feature a leather surface covered with a fishnet while its edges look crude, but this is the case of gorgeous carelessness.
The fishnet in Christian Louboutin latest shoes isn’t new. The designer has been experimenting with meshy materials for several seasons already. The new Louboutin collection includes tempting sandals with complicated patterns of interweaved strings while its flesh-tone colouring stresses their exceptional sexuality.
Rene Caovilla latest shoes and sandals are decorated with an original fishnet that looks like that of fishnet stockings. And, at last, DKNY offers espadrille shoes with a string platform and a meshy top. In this case the mesh looks simple rather than feminine and graceful, yet it doesn’t deprive the shoes of their eye-catching originality.
