Jean Paul Gailtier brand breathes a new life into classic ballet shoes with its Fall 2011 Haute Couture collection. The designers left the shape of the classic pointes unchanged but equipped the shoes with a solid sole. There’re also edging elements, tiny bows and satin ribbons that can be tied around feet and ankles, which creates the image of the real ballet shoes.
Since pointes are designed for dancing on the tiptoes, Jean Paul Gaultier includes a graceful and an almost invisible wedge into the shoe construction. As a result, your heels hover in the air without any foothold as if you were a ballet dancer.
Still, it is not Jean Paul Gaultier who invented such a shoe construction. You can find similar models in the United Nude shoe collections and even more sticking models are created by a London shoe-maker Natacha Marro. ]]>At the latest New York fashion week where spring-summer shoes models were presented, the Ohne Titel designers unveiled a little collection of four footwear models. However modest in quantity the collection is, the design of the new shoes is really impressive. The shoes are united by their peep toes and futuristic coloring.
The new booties feature the most popular colors of the season: red, yellow, deep blue and of course white. In addition, the colors are combined according to the “color blocking” rule, which is also hot in this season. The rule allows combining seemingly incompatible colors to create a sticking effect.
All the booties have peep toes while their heels differ. Two of them are equipped with a wide and comparatively low heel while the other two feature a neat thin heel that is slightly bent. All the booties have a zipper with a tassel alongside with various braided elements like leather ropes above the peep toes.
Any girl wearing these bright booties will immediately draw people’s attention and won’t remain unnoticed. The booties can be a great bargain for fashion girls as they comply with all the rules of the season – bright and brave colors, elaborated details and peep toes.
These Ohne Titel booties remind me of Nicola Geskier’s works he did for house of Balenciaga. He also used to create (and sometimes does it now) futuristic accessories, both stylish and brightly colored.

]]>Alexander Wang presented his new Fall-Winter 2011/12 footwear collection at New-York fashion show a week ago. His new collection doesn’t include innovative models yet the ideas are original and deserve attention thanks to their unexpected implementation.
For instance, there you can see separate boot tops that were previously spotted in other brands’ collection. Alexander Wang updated the concept and combined the tops with thin sandal straps. The contrast is even more striking if taking into account puffer design of the quilted leather tops.
Such a hybrid model looks attractive yet it isn’t that functional. Your feet are almost naked while your legs are covered with warm leather tops, so you’ll never know the right weather for these shoes. However, the bright designer idea makes them attractive to fashion fans.
Alexander Wang also launches shoes and sandals featuring an unusual detail from the rear, namely a long tongue made of the same material used for the top. Their straps are peculiar as well – there’s a separate strap for a big finger to ensure more comfortable wear and a firmer grip.
You can also find sandals with fur as well as retro-futuristic loafers in Alexander Wang Fall-Winter 2011/12 collection. The loafers are equipped with little tassels come in bright futuristic colors.
